Fliekshop got off to a flying start with the new feature on the Kaufland marketplaces

Fliekshop has already been selling with Kaufland Global Marketplace for a few years. Getting its start on Kaufland.de in 2021, the company now delights customers on the Kaufland marketplaces in Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria with its extensive product range in the furniture category.  

“We already knew Kaufland well before the German marketplace launch in 2021. The strong brick-and-mortar presence and the associated brand awareness made us confident that we would be able to tap into enormous potential with the new marketplace. That’s why we seized the opportunity and were one of the first online sellers to register”, says Jasmin, Operations Manager at Fliekshop 

And it paid off: The seller now successfully offers a portfolio of 500 products. They aren’t stopping at Kaufland.de either, with products being offered on Kaufland.sk, Kaufland.cz, Kaufland.pl and Kaufland.at. “The Kaufland marketplaces expand our sales channels and allow us to tap into new target groups”, Jasmin continues. “We’re very excited about Kaufland Global Marketplace’s ambitious expansion strategy because every new marketplace gives us the opportunity to effortlessly increase our reach and thereby generate more sales growth.”

More than two million euros in GMV: strong increase in sales with newvouchers” marketing tool

Fliekshop uses the newly introduced voucher function to successfully sell its wide range of products on the Kaufland marketplaces. With vouchers, sellers can offer their customers on the Kaufland marketplaces targeted, time-limited discount promotions and sales deals. The discounts are displayed to the customers on the product detail page, in search results and in recommenders.  

“We tried out the new onsite marketing tool right away as we identified it as a good opportunity to increase our sales. That’s why we decided to take part in the beta testing stage”, says Jasmin.  

“The beta testing stage was tremendously successful for us, which is why the vouchers have since become a permanent feature of our marketing strategy. We advertise a wide range of our products with vouchers and have been able to achieve great sales as a result”, raves Jasmin.

The discount offer for one of our upholstered beds is particularly popular: That item had seen fairly unstable daily orders prior to creating the voucher. As soon as the offer was up, daily sales increased by about 126 percent over the following 14 days as compared to the previous two weeks.

The top three most popular voucher categories are garden and home improvement, home and living as well as kitchen and household items.

 

Vouchers: Minimal effort for maximum success 

“The tool is very effective and easy to use, as well”, Jasmin enthuses. Even though it hasn’t been available for long, it’s already become our most used marketing feature. It helps us advertise new products or promotional products.”

The voucher function is available for all sellers in the “Services” area and is characterised by fast and convenient handling that simultaneously allows for full control and maximum flexibility.

“Creating vouchers is quite intuitive and only takes a few clicks. The feature only requires minimal capacities and can be implemented quickly for a wide range of products”, says the Operations Manager. “We’ve also really been benefiting from the additional traffic that our products get thanks to the vouchers. The increase in views has translated into an increase in unit volume.”

It only takes five steps to create a voucher:
1. Enter general information (sales channel, campaign name, validity period)
2. Add desired products
3. Determine the individual discount
4. Specify sales/number of vouchers
5. Create offer

The sellers can decide for themselves whether they want to offer customers a percentage discount (minimum possible: two percent) or an outright discount (minimum possible: 50 cents).

Voucher details page: Monitor and optimise offers 

With the new feature, you can increase your sales in no time at all. However, if your aim isn’t to just increase sales, but also harness the full potential of this new tool, you’re also going to want to analyse and optimise your performance: 

“We’ve found the voucher details page overview in the Seller Portal to be especially helpful. It displays the performance for each discount, letting us monitor which vouchers are popular with our customers and which ones are less in demand”, says Jasmin.  

The performance overview helps sellers develop strategies for optimising their sales deals to achieve even more sales in the long term.
